| Heat wave, ouais, enfin bon, si on veut quoi...
A bientot!!! | Heat wave they said...Last weekend was supposed to be the first real hot of this year, with a huge Heat Wave on Saturday and Sunday. They were wrong... Well I have to admit that Saturday afternoon was as they had announced, really hot and humid... That was the first part of the wave coming to us. Unfortunately it was also the only we got. Sunday gave us some raindrops, Monday wasn't better and since then, the sky is too gray to make me believe it's summer... A bit disappointing for a Australia I have to say... I hope it'll get better. Well I'm complaining but we did have a really hot Saturday and when it's hot on a Saturday afternoon in Sydney, you run to the Beach... Which is what we did. (Well what I did cos JB -my brother- was working on a Saturday afternoon for the 3rd or 4th time since he arrived here 5 years ago...!!! So I went to Bondi Beach, the famous white-sand-full-of-surfers-and-huge-waves beach... It does is a great beach but if I was to give my opinion about it (which is what I'm going to do anyway) I'd advice you to go to Manly or Coogee first. Bondi is way too crowded, packed with teenagers, tourists or huge blokes who must spent at least 4 hours every night at the gym... All those guys are talking loud, playing with balls (which always end up on you or your friends faces) and eating burgers or fries on the beach. Consequently, Bondi Beach is quiet disgusting at the end of the day, full of rubbishes, cans, papers, etc... Anyway, I shouldn't be complaining like a bloody arrogant French (yes Australians think French are arrogant...) because most of this Saturday afternoon spent in Bondi, I was actually in a Karine's flat and not on the Beach. Karine is from the Sydney French Theatre and we had a rehearsal at her place. It's been ages since I have given news of the Sydney French Theatre (SFT, if you have no idea what I'm talking about go to this post, or the SFT website) and I'll feed your appetite for announcement now...!!! We will have two shows at the Alliance Francaise of Sydney, Saturday 18th of November at 1.30 pm and Tuesday 21st November at 7 pm. It'll be a short play (40 mn) in French with subtitles, called "Lightless Territories". We're 7 actors and some other friends who help with the logistic and the more the date is closer, the more it's stressful and exciting at the same time!!! If you want to know more, if you have questions go to the Alliance Francaise website or write a comment to this post by clicking on "Ajouter un commentaire" under this post. You can also have a look at some pictures by clicking on the one on the left. There are not many pictures, but I'll add some soon I promise... Well as you probably have realized with what I just said, rehearsals with the SFT are taking more and more of my free time... And if I add to this the fact that I'm being also very busy at work, the result is that I don't have as many time as I used to have for writing posts on this blog... I'm really sorry and I'll try to do my best...Soon... Two small news to end this post: 1-Go and visit the Cleyet-Marrel's blog. Some of you might know Ben or Violaine from CISV, well now they leave in Auckland, NZ and they are writing a really nice and funny blog about their life. 2-I'll create a new category on this blog. It'll be called "Tips&Hints around the world"... It's going to be... Fun! I don't know yet all about it but it'll be fun I'm telling you. See ya!! |
